The American Legion Auxiliary Unit #80 of Hulett hosted the Americanism Contest this year. Students Kindergarten through 12th grade were invited to participate in the contest. Grades K-2 had patriotic coloring pages. Grades 3-12 were split into 3 classes: Class #1 (grades 3-5), Class #2 (grades 6-8), and Class #3 (grades 9-12). A donation to the Hulett School has made it possible to erect beautiful new playground equipment. Old equipment was taken down and the new equipment was put up with the help of company representatives and volunteers from the school and town. Crook County School District (CCSD) will be hosting events to help kids avoid the dangers of opioid addiction, thanks to grant funding through the county. According to Superintendent Mark Broderson, an incident took place on the Moorcroft campus in early October and “opioids were part of that problem”. The 2024 Hulett Homecoming coronation kicked off the weeklong events. The event was held outside on the football field, and the weather did not disappoint. Hulett School library will host a Scholastic Book Fair on Oct. 21-Oct. 24. The Book Fair will be open daily from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and until 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Funds raised will help purchase books for the school library as well as classroom libraries. Families, faculty and the community are invited to attend this fun reading event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers. Bob Jones University recently named Abigail Palus of Hulett to the Lyric Choir, BJU’s all-women music ensemble. Palus is a freshman majoring in Biblical Counseling. The Hulett school lunchroom served not only students but their grandparents too last Thursday. Over 70 grandparents joined their grandkids for a delicious school lunch. This is quite an undertaking for the lunch ladies but they enjoy every bit of it. There were grandparents and great-grandparents this year. It's a great way for generations to enjoy lunch together.
