    The county commission will be hosting a public hearing on December 5 at 2 p.m. regarding some updates and amendments to its minor subdivision rules and the bylaws that apply to its planning and zoning commission. Should the updates to the subdivision rules be approved, the Crook County Commissioners will now have the authority to approve the covenants drafted for new subdivisions.     Thomas Wayne Symonds was born to Harry and Genevieve Belhuemer Symonds on December 22, 1940, in a little one room white house on the creek in Whitewood, South Dakota, the youngest of seven children. The family later moved to Sturgis when Tom was a very small child. He attended school in Sturgis and throughout his teenage years he worked for Frances Haley and on Pete Quick's dairy.     Last Friday, people who attended the free concert at the Greater Hulett community center were entertained by Alvin McAmis and his friends, Sus Clark, Brandon Ackerman and Perry Washenberger. The audience listened to country music, gospel and the evening ended with a patriotic theme. The concert was free, but if people left donations, they will go to help fund the ongoing costs for the cross on the hill. Everyone enjoyed the evening of music and refreshments....
