    Last Friday, people who attended the free concert at the Greater Hulett community center were entertained by Alvin McAmis and his friends, Sus Clark, Brandon Ackerman and Perry Washenberger. The audience listened to country music, gospel and the evening ended with a patriotic theme. The concert was free, but if people left donations, they will go to help fund the ongoing costs for the cross on the hill. Everyone enjoyed the evening of music and refreshments....

    The Town of Hulett sponsored a shredding/recycling opportunity for its residents. Last Thursday, BAM Document Destruction and Recycling spent three hours in front of the Greater Hulett Community Center and shredded documents as people pulled up to empty years of documents into the bins.     In a heartfelt ceremony, veterans were honored and remembered in a Welcome Home ceremony last Saturday at the GHCC. Gov. Mark Gordon, Maj. Gen. Greg Porter and Veterans Commission Chairman Jake Jacobs all spoke at the importance of welcoming home all of our veterans.     The Hulett Public Library is offering a great opportunity to visit Wyoming State Parks. Wyoming libraries and the Wyoming Parks and Historic Sites have partnered to allow people to visit the parks for free. All you have to do is stop by the library and check out a backpack.     The annual Old West Invitational Turkey Shoot was held last week, May 5 through 7 at the GHCC. The event kicked off with a music event at the Devils Tower golf club sponsored by the Country Outdoors concert series. Thursday night was the calcutta and Friday morning kicked off the hunt.     If you haven't been in the Greater Hulett Community Center gym lately, you may want to come down and take a look. A project that has been in the works for a couple of years finally came to fruition. The floor was in bad shape and needed to be either replaced or refinished. Thankfully the floor is in great shape and only needed to be stripped and finished. It now looks like a brand-new floor.     Rep. Chip Neiman held a town hall meeting last Tuesday at the Greater Hulett Community Center. Nearly 30 residents attended the three-hour session. Neiman talked about a number of issues facing Wyoming. Some of the topics discussed were increasing fuel tax, funding of schools and runoff elections.     The Greater Hulett Community Center received a very generous donation from the Hulett Women's Club. Julia Dirks and Pat Dirks, members of the club, presented Michelle Kreisler, GHCC coordinator with a check for $10,000. The club, which has been in existence for decades, has decided to disband and wanted to give back to the community.
