Seventy-five years of putting on a two-day rodeo was celebrated this year in Hulett. The Hulett Roping Club celebrated by inviting all past queens to be the grand marshals of the festivities.
Activities began with the rodeo parade, Saturday morning at 10 a.m., and the streets were lined with spectators – including kids eager to get candy. Nearly 50 entries this year were in the parade, which is sponsored by The Hulett Chamber and Recreation board.
The two-day rodeo began Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The grand entry was held with all of the queens being presented in either a wagon or on horseback.
The oldest queen in attendance was Norma Moore Martin, who was queen in 1954. Tributes were also given to Chuck Larsen, Wace Snook and Lloyd Pruett, who have all passed away in the last year.
Hulett Rodeo Results
The two-day annual Hulett Rodeo was held last week and what a celebration it was. Honoring the rodeo queens who served as grand marshals was one of the highlights of the weekend.
Saturday had great weather and the Sunday performance did complete despite a bad weather warning. Estimated attendance was 2500.
