CCMSD appoints new Hulett trustee

Bob Richey resigned his position as the Hulett trustee for Crook County Medical Services District last week and was immediately replaced with the appointment of Robin Hibbard.

“I have his resignation with me today,” said Trustee Sandy Neiman, who told the board that Richey has stepped down due to personal circumstances.

In the letter he submitted to the board, read by Neiman, Richey said, “It has been my honor and privilege to serve on the board but, due to unforeseen circumstances, I will no longer be able to meet my duties as treasurer and trustee.”

The board accepted his resignation with, as Trustee Mark Erickson stated, “heavy hearts – but understanding hearts.”

Neiman also shared that she had been able to secure the agreement of Robin Hibbard to fill the Hulett seat.

“He is a retired cardiac surgeon and he has moved back here [to Crook County] now,” she said.

Hibbard himself shared a little of his history, including that he was a resident of Wyoming until he moved to Nebraska for a career opportunity. He practiced structural heart and intervention cardiology until retirement, when he returned to this area.

Neiman told the board that his residency has been checked and he does qualify to fill the Hulett seat as a registered voter in the appropriate area.

CEO Micki Lyons confirmed that Richey’s seat was elected for a two-year term and therefore will be on the ballot this November.

At that time, Hibbard will have the opportunity to decide if he would like to run for election for the same seat.

Neiman meanwhile volunteered to serve as treasurer for the board until the next election.
