    Twelve Hulett seniors graduated last Sunday when the 2023 commencement was held. Graduating were: Jessee Driskill, Koltin Gantz, McKenna Kromarek, Kagan Lawrence, Abby Nelson, Hunter Reilly, Sam Reilly, Kade Smith, Brighton Thibault, MJ Ulmer, Logan Westover and Ashlynn Wilson.   • Temporary closure to protect nesting falcons and climbers at Devils Tower

    Rock climbing routes on the east and northeast faces of Devils Tower summit will be temporarily closed effective immediately to protect nesting Peregrine and Prairie Falcons. The closure is implemented annually to provide the falcons with an undisturbed nesting location during this critical courtship and nest-selection period. The presence of climbers near falcon nests can be distressing to parent birds and disturbance from climbing activities may force falcons to abandon eggs or chicks.   • County enjoys employment bump

    The latest figures from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services shows that Crook County enjoyed an employment bump last year. The county saw a 4.5% increase in employment between the end of 2021 and the fourth quarter of 2022, which equals 112 more jobs. Of those, 102 were in private industries. Payroll also headed in an upwards direction, increasing by over $2 million, or 6.4%, between the end of 2021 and the fourth quarter of 2022, bringing total wages in the county to $34,223,596.   • Devils Tower National Monument staff attend training for high-angle rope rescue

    Last month, Devils Tower staff attended a high-angle rope rescue course. This course was instructed within the monument by "Rigging for Rescue" out of Ouray, CO. The one-week seminar included detailed instruction on high-angle rescue systems and how to use technical equipment for practical use. This training included the fundamentals of rope rescue.
