Candidates confirmed

Filing has now closed for this year’s primary election, with candidates now finalized for city, county, state and national seats.

Chip Neiman will stand again for his seat as State Representative for House District 01. He will be unopposed.

At the county level, one county commissioner seat with a four-year term will be voted on this year. Incumbent Kelly Dennis will be challenged by Dale T. Davis.

On the national level, John Barrasso will be challenged for his United States Senator seat by John Holtz of Laramie and Reid Rasner of Mills on the Republican ticket. Scott D. Morrow will run on the Democratic side.

Harriet Hageman will run again for United States Representative on the Republican ticket against Steven R. Helling of Casper, with Kyle G. Cameron of Cheyenne running as a Democrat.

Two four-year city council member terms will be voted on for Sundance, Pine Haven and Moorcroft.

In Sundance, incumbents Randy Stevenson and Joe Wilson are running against challengers Rick Benavidez and Kyndell Schell.

Two incumbents will run in Pine Haven: Suzette Edwards and Tom Roberts. One challenger will also appear on the ballot: Dustin Heying.

In Moorcroft, the two incumbents will both be running again: Heidi Humpal and Dale Petersen.

In city elections, which are nonpartisan, two candidates for each open seat can move ahead to the general election. Consequently, unless any of the names listed above should withdraw from the race, all will appear on November’s ballot.
