Drivers need to be cautious

Who hasn't been driving down the road and looked up to see that the vehicle in front of them is either hauling logs or equipment or rocks, gravel? More than not, everything stays where it should be, but there are some instances, especially with gravel, where rocks will come flying out of the back of a vehicle in front of you or even a vehicle that is passing you.

For Mason Neiman and his family who were on vacation and headed to their parents' home in Hulett, that's exactly what happened. The family was headed down Oudin Hill and a farm truck in front of them lost a rock out of the bed and came flying, almost coming through the passenger side of the windshield.

The family was shaken and astonished at what had just happened, realizing the impact of this accident when there was actual glass inside the car.

A similar incident happened to Sharon Penning as she was coming back from Spearfish near Aladdin, and someone in a state truck passed her and flung a huge rock doing similar damage to her car.

While it's really hard to make the people who were driving the vehicles that lost the objects responsible, the Neiman family want to make people aware how serious this can be, and just to be aware of their surroundings and the vehicles that are around them.
