The long-standing tradition of the Old Settlers Picnic was held last Sunday at the picnic area at Devils Tower. An annual event that's been held since the 1930s, it used to bring thousands to enjoy a picnic at the monument with friends, family and neighbors.

This year, the settlers who were honored were the Buttons and Bows Homemakers Club, Bruce McAmis, Jeanne Shepherd, Joe Graham and Evelyn Hejde.

The day began with church at the Oshoto followed with an old fashioned picnic, the honorees speaking of their lives in Crook County, and then entertainment by the band Badger Horse. MC for the...
