Public meetings set for this year's hunting regs

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will once again be holding public open houses around the county this month to discuss the proposed hunting seasons for 2022. Meetings are scheduled in both Sundance and Hulett and comments will be accepted until April 1.

The first of the two meetings will take place in Sundance on March 21 in the courthouse basement from 4 to 6 p.m. The next day, March 22, the Greater Hulett Community Center will host a meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The intent is to gather public input on general hunting regulations, as well as seasons for antelope, deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, upland game birds, small game, migratory game birds, wild bison and turkeys.

The meetings are an opportunity to learn about local wildlife populations, ask questions and visit with biologists and wardens from the department.

If you are unable to attend but would like to participate, the Casper region will be hosting an online question and answer session on March 24 at noon. This meeting can be accessed at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83246589993.

The proposed regulation changes themselves can be viewed on the department's website at wgfd.wyo.gov/Get-Involved/Public Meetings.

Written comments can be accepted at the meetings or via mail to: Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY 82604.

Comments will be presented to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission before its public hearing in April.
