Alberta Reynolds

Alberta Reynolds passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Alberta was born April 19, 1933 in Moorcroft, WY to Fred and Rosa Sehn. She spent her childhood on a ranch just a hop and much skipping over the hill from Oshoto.

She graduated from Moorcroft High School in 1952. She met Wayne Reynolds, the love of her life in "Bible School", probably a Sunday school class. They started dating, usually going to the movies in Moorcroft.

They married on her birthday in 1954 (maybe a subtle reminder to never forget their wedding date). They had four children, Eugene, Rebecca, Clinton and Alfred.

Early in their marriage she became an army wife, which quickly strengthened her. Their first deployment was in Germany during the turmoil of the Berlin wall going up.

She was basically a single parent several times as a career soldier's wife with Wayne being deployed overseas several times. Two of those times were to Vietnam.

Alberta loved being a waitress, always enjoying the interaction with her customers. She even went back to waitressing in her seventies just to see more people.

She was also so spry and up for adventure, she once went with family to Yellowstone, which included a rafting trip. (And she hated swimming!) She wore her kids and grandkids out shopping, she out-walked them all!

Alberta liked to paint and craft. You may have seen some of her crafts at the local craft fairs. She made numerous quilts and afghans, trying to make sure she had one made for each child and grandchild.

She was secretary/treasurer for the Pine Grove Cemetery for 33 years. Alberta was very active with the Moorcroft Senior Center, food pantry, and the West Texas Trail Museum, until her health prevented her from volunteering. Alberta was honored with her contributions to the community in 2016 as Moorcroft's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Alberta is survived by her sister Katherine Dunlap of Moorcroft; her children, daughter-in-law Verlene Reynolds of Moorcroft, Rebecca Wood of Duncan, Oklahoma, Clinton (Shannon) of Moorcroft, and Alfred (Florence) of Oshoto; grandchildren Chuck (Courtney) Reynolds, Laura (Darby) Whisler, Moorcroft, Kristy Siscoe, Lake Havasu City, AZ, Ashley (Eric) Farmer, Tomball, TX, Lesley (Bryan) Heenan, Duncan, OK, Keith (Justin) Reynolds, Salt Lake City, UT, Kirby Reynolds, Sheridan, WY, Shawn (Trey) Reynolds, San Diego, CA, Brett (Alex) Reynolds, Oshoto, WY, Edward Reynolds, Moorcroft; great-grandchildren, Marcus, Nolan, Jada, J.D., Mahina, Lucy, Tiggy, Cloudy and River of Moorcroft, Kimber, Lake Havasu City, AZ, James, Timothy, Joseph, Tomball, TX, Bellamy, Duncan, OK.
