Margaret Frances White

Margaret Frances White, 99, of Devils Tower, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, November, 23, 2022, at Crook County Memorial Nursing Home.

Margaret was born February 23, 1923, at home on Houston Creek in Crook County, Wyoming, to James and Amalia (Reinhold) Bowers. She attended Houston Creek country school and later graduated from Sundance High School.

Margaret then attended Spearfish Teachers College. She taught at various country schools in Crook County before moving to Seattle, Washington, where she worked for Boeing Aircraft during WWII. She returned to Sundance and worked at Sundance State Bank.

She married Herman White on October 3, 1961, to this union one son, Daniel was born. The couple made their home near Devils Tower where they ranched.

Margaret is survived by her son, Daniel White, and his significant other, Loretta Wendte; nephews, Jim (Kathy) Bowers, Tom (Carla) Bowers, Bill (Mary) Cockerham and niece, Sue (Dennis) Bowers-Schaefer; and many great nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Jim and his wife Ellie Bowers, Helen and her husband William Ellard, Lois and her husband Wilford JW Kennedy; and nephews, James Ellard, Harold Kennedy and his wife Nellie and Terry Wiechert.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2022, at the Sundance United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Tower Divide Cemetery, near Devils Tower.
